Dr. Punarjit Roychowdhury is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Shiv Nadar University, Delhi NCR and a Fellow of the Global Labor Organization (GLO). Formerly, he worked as an Assistant Professor (with tenure) in the department of Industrial Economics at the University of Nottingham, UK, and as an Assistant Professor in the Economics area at the Indian Institute of Management Indore. Dr. Roychowdhury holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Southern Methodist University, U.S.A. His research focuses on inequality, poverty, and gender issues. His research has been published in several journals of international repute including the Journal of Business & Economic Statistics, Journal of the Royal Statistical Society: Series A, Oxford Economic Papers, Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Development Studies, Economics of Education Review, and World Development among others. He also occasionally writes for leading Indian dailies in English and Bengali. His pieces have appeared in Hindustan Times, Mint, The Hindu BusinessLine, The Telegraph, Anandabazar Patrika, and Ei Samay.
